Once again it is time to dance…the Peterborough Folk Music Society is hosting its 16th annual Snowball Contra-Dance and people will coming to the area from all over New England. No tapping shoes required…in fact many go barefoot at this square dance style of dancing. I don’t think Dancing With The Stars has done Contra-Dancing yet but maybe they should 🙂
That’s not all that is going on. Since the mid-December ice storm shut down most local businesses for anywhere from five to ten days just before Christmas and during the prime holiday shopping season…they downtown businesses have decided to have an “Ice Storm Sale Extravaganza”. January 23-25, many (if not most) of the stores in town are having a big sale. From art galleries and clothing stores to dining and home furnishings. The list is too big to mention everyone but if you like to shop in Peterborough (and sales tax free), this may be the weekend to do it!
