The third weekend in January (January 22-23) in Peterborough gives you the opportunity to get out and dance and laugh.
Saturday, January 23rd is the 17th annual Snow Ball Contra-Dance. If you don’t know what contra-dancing is, it’s a bit like square dancing with a caller and bands. The dance starts at noon and goes all the way to midnight and you can drop in before noon for a beginner class we believe. Here’s a link to a video from the 2007 Fall Ball.
Also happening that weekend on Friday and Saturday is Ken Sheldon’s Frost Heaves. It’s has been named the best variety show in the Granite State by New Hampshire Magazine. Here’s a link to a snippet from one of his previous shows as Fred shows off his Blueberry. We have never made it to one of his shows but we hope to go that weekend so we can report back. All the videos we have watched online have made me laugh out loud or chuckle so it looks pretty good!
Harlow’s Pub also has music both nights…a Southern Swing band called Christabel and the Jons on Friday night and The Two Man Gentleman Band (hot jazz, R&B, and country mix).
